Labour’s candidate for Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, today pledged to protect the London Freedom Pass if elected next May.
More than 1.3 million Londoners have a Freedom Pass, which are available to those over the age of 60 and provide free travel on the London Underground, bus, tram and train network.
There have been repeated calls for the Freedom Pass to be scrapped, but Sadiq Khan pledged to do everything in his power to keep it in place. The pass is funded by London Councils.
Labour’s candidate for Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said:
“The Freedom Pass is a lifeline for more than a million Londoners – ensuring they can always get around our city. If I’m Mayor, the Freedom Pass stays.”
