Marina Ahmad - Croydon and Sutton

A statement from Marina Ahmad:

Campaigning for better and more affordable public transport

Commuting in London is too expensive. The Tories want to keep putting up your fares as they have done for the last 8 years. Sadiq Khan has a clear and costed plan to freeze fares for the next 4 years so you won't pay a penny more in 2020 than you do now. He’ll do this by cutting vanity projects, reducing spending on expensive consultants and cracking down on fare dodging. Sadiq will introduce a ‘Hopper’ ticket on buses so you only pay once, however many times you change buses within the hour. These are the initiatives commuters in Croydon and Sutton want because travelling to work should be affordable, not a luxury.

Marina Ahmad, your Labour candidate for the London Assembly will campaign to:

• Make Croydon Zone 4 and extend the tramlink to Sutton
• Protect local police numbers from any Tory cuts so that our community is safe
• Fight to ensure City Hall is building enough affordable homes and protecting tenants.
